Today we have some updates!
Lets start with Viva Japanese Steakhouse. Not only will the restaurant have hibachi-style grills, but they’ll also have a sushi bar and Asian-style fusion dishes. They’ll be opening later this summer, right outside of ArcLight Cinemas.
The next Girl Power event will be held on July 14th at Bethesda Crossing in Bethesda, MD.
This means two floors of:
• Free Food
• Free Wine
• Free Massages
• Free Beer
• Free Dessert
• Free Fitness activities (Yoga, Zumba, Kicktronix, Self Defense, and more)
They’ve announced via social media that they’ll be opening this coming weekend, Saturday, June 30th.
The restaurant description is “classic American cuisine with a touch of Irish.” Owner Macdara Mactigue has promised that Guinness will be served on draught.
The fast-casual chain, based out of Salt Lake City, has over 100 locations nation-wide. This will be their third MoCo location, with stores already open in Germantown and Olney.
On January, we were the first to report that Sears filed a notice stating their Montgomery Mall location would be closing on March 18th, 2018. Sears later claimed they accidentally filed the notice and that they signed a new lease the mall.
The plan, according to Westfield, is for the Sears building to be replaced by a mixed-use center that will contain upscale restaurants, housing, high-end shops, walkways, and a promenade reminiscent to Tyson’s Corner (where Shake Shack is located just outside of the mall itself).
Though the “holiday” isn’t until Friday, June 22, they’ll be giving away free salt & pepper onion rings (with the purchase of an entree) on Thursday 6/21 and Friday 6/22.
Ted’s Montana Grill has a MoCo location at 105 Ellington Blvd in Gaithersburg (Downtown Crown). The offer is good for dine-in and carry-out.
The sign doesn’t make it clear when the restaurant will be closing, but an Iron Age employee told me that it wouldn’t be until September and that the renovations will be specifically for a new ventilation system.
Though the restaurant doesn’t offer an all-you-can-eat option like its main competitor in the area, Iron Age, it does offer later hours. According to the Honey Pig Facebook page, the hours of operation will be as follows:
Sun-Thurs 10:00AM to 2:00AM Fri&Sat 10:00AM to 4:00AM
The “modern seafood shack” is a fast casual restaurant with locations primarily on the west coast and Southwestern United States. It has been called “the Chipotle of Seafood.”
The Rockville location will be their first on the east coast and will be joining Cava and Honeygrow at Montrose Crossing. These very strong fast casual restaurants will quickly help us forget about Timpano Italian Chophouse, the restaurant that was demolished to make way for the current structure that is home to the fast-casual eateries.
Earlier today I had the opportunity to check out some of the progress made and was informed that Cabin John Village is expecting the first MoCo Shake Shack to open this fall.
