Pepe’s Pizza, Lego Store, Peking Duck, and 7 Eleven are all scheduled to open in Montgomery Mall this year.
Though we’ve touched on all of these except the Lego Store in the past, Westfield Montgomery has now posted expected opening dates for all of these future locations.

Earlier today we were told that Urban BBQ has closed its Hillandale location (10163 New Hampshire Ave).
A call to one of the two remaining Rockville locations confirmed the closing as well as the Hillandale/Silver Spring location no longer being listed on the company website.
Cubano’s in Bethesda is NOW OPEN!
Cubano’s first location is in Silver Spring (1201 Fidler Lane) and this new Bethesda location has taken over the old Louisiana Kitchen location at 4907 Cordell Ave.
UPDATE: Chopt was scheduled to open this summer, but based on where construction is at… it looks like it may be coming a little later. September still a possibility.

This morning we spoke with Brad Riddle, a broker at Greater Potomac Realty (a commercial real estate company with offices in Gaithersburg and Kensington), who let us know of Playa Bowls second MoCo location coming soon to Kensington.
Greater Potomac Realty has been working with Playa Bowls (Açaí Bowls, Pitaya, Coconut Bowls, smoothies, etc.) on opening locations in the DC area. Recently they have opened in Fairfax, VA (Mosaic District) and Potomac, MD (Cabin John Village).

A couple weeks ago we let you know that Mission BBQ would be opening it’s Germantown location this Monday, January 27th.
Last week we were informed by several customers that The Cuban Corner in Rockville (825 Hungerford Dr. in Saah Plaza) was closed without explanation.
Readers told us that online ordering was working (orders were not completed) and the phone would ring, but that the restaurant was actually closed.
Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza is opening in the the old Community location at 7776 Norfolk Ave in Bethesda on Wednesday, January 29th.
The chain started in Florida in 2002 and has since expanded with more than 50 restaurants throughout the northeast. It is owned by Anthony Bruno and backed by NFL Hall of Fame quarterback, Dan Marino.
Dog Haus Biergarten in the Kentlands is holding its soft opening all week, leading up to it’s grand opening on January 25th.
The soft opening hours are 11am-11pm.
