Though it was the first in Montgomery County, it was fifth in the D.C. Metro area, and the 241st in America. A burger, fries, and a drink would go for under .50 cents. The Glenmont location was the second McDonald’s to open in MoCo, opening a few years after the Rockville location. It is currently the only two-story McDonald’s in Montgomery County. The new location will be known as “Quincy’s Uptown” and is currently expected to open this summer, according to a server at their Gaithersburg location (they also have a North Bethesda location– Quincy’s South).

The Damascus restaurant will have a pretty big back patio (pictured below) and rumor has it they will be serving crabs on the patio in the summer!


Flower Child is the latest fast-casual health food concept from Fox Restaurant Concepts, the Arizona-based group that also owns True Food Kitchen.

The menu includes build-your-own plates, sandwiches, salads and wraps using organic, sustainable and GMO-free ingredients. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options and desserts are dairy and gluten-free.


It was announced a few months back that Ivan Iracan would be bringing Tacos, Tortas, and Tequila to Silver Spring to occupy the old 8407 Kitchen Bar spot (https://mocoshow.com/blog/tacos-tortas-and-tequila-coming-to-silver-spring).

A few weeks later he announced that he would be bringing an unlimited small plates program, similar to the one at his popular D.C. restaurant Ambar, to the second level of the location– as Buena Vida.
