Signage that reads “MoCo is finally getting out [sic] own… Aloha Poke Co” is up at 800 Pleasant Dr. #100 in Rockville’s King Farm neighborhood. This will be the Chicago-based poke restaurant’s first Maryland location.

Last month, we reported that the contents from Bamboo Buffet (2010 Veirs Mill Rd) were up for sale through a listing by Capital Online Auctions. Items included kitchen equipment, refrigerators, plates/glassware, dining furniture, and dozens of miscellaneous restaurant items. Signage is up for Bouboulina, a new full-service American grill influenced by Mediterranean cuisine at 915 Meeting St. at Pike & Rose. The restaurant, which is being opened by the founders of CAVA, will feature a wood-fired grill, premium steak cuts, fresh seafood and house baked breads with Mediterranean influences that celebrate the founders’ heritage and roots.
Peter Chang Restaurant is now open at 637 N Frederick Ave in Gaithersburg. The restaurant is located in the space previously occupied by Ichiban Restaurant, which closed in September 2021 after 35 years in business.
According to a report by Source of the Spring, Outback Steakhouse will open its new Downtown Silver Spring location on Tuesday, April 9. The Australian-themed casual dining restaurant will be located in the space that was previously home to Not Your Average Joe’s at 8661 Colesville Rd. (more…)
Last month, we reported that “coming soon” signage was up for Han Spot in Gaithersburg’s Rio. We now know the restaurant will have its beer, wine, and liquor license hearing on Thursday, May 2nd at 10am. (more…)

Last week, we reported that Gong cha and Kyo Matcha (formerly Kyoto Matcha) had both closed inside of The Block Foodhall & Bar at 967 Rose Ave. in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose. We have also learned that Little Miner Taco will be out of The Block on April 30th.
In November, we let you know that Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls is coming to 201 Boardwalk Place in Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront. Construction recently began at the space (photo below).

Aldon Management has sold two apartment buildings, 8200 Wisconsin Ave. (built in 1967) and the Middlebrooke Apartments at 5015 Battery Lane (built in 1962), to Corner Lot Advisors for a combined $85.6 million. 8200 Wisconsin sold for $63.3 million and Middlebrooke Apartments sold for $22.3 million, per land records.
