Square Taco, a family-owned and operated food truck, is getting ready to stop by the Clarksburg outlets this Friday, August 16th from 10am until 9pm. “We’re excited to bring you the real taste of Mexico with a unique twist. At Square Taco, even our tortillas are square-shaped, setting us apart and adding a fun, creative touch to our traditional recipes.” the owners tell us (photos below).
Koma Cafe, which offers Italian-inspired cuisine and much more in the Long Branch Neighborhood of Takoma Park, has been a hit since it opened last October. Known for its specialty coffee & tea, and Italian-inspired pastries and food, Eater DC recently wrote that the unique soft serve ice cream the cafe offers “steals the show.”
Baskin Robbins, with many locations locally, is offering running a fun promotion on Wednesday, August 14th known as Melt Insurance– offering free scoops to anyone whose ice cream has melted in ANY ice cream shop before they could eat it, with “no proof of melt required.”
Eddie V’s Prime Seafood is requesting approval to construct a 10,000 square foot restaurant building on the property located at 151 Lakelands Drive, which is at the corner of Lakelands Drive and Great Seneca Highway in Gaithersburg.

In January, we reported that Chopt (18123 Town Center Dr) and Mezeh (18129 Town Center Dr) are both “coming soon” in Olney. Many have consistently asked about the restaurants and now construction has started at the Chopt space with Mezeh looking like it’s ready to begin soon based on the outside windows.

Back in January we let you know that Eggspectation, a restaurant that serves “elevated American cuisine with a lengthy all-day breakfast menu alongside hearty lunch and dinner fare”, is returning to Montgomery County with its upcoming Burtonsville location. We recently reported that the latest update from the restaurant revealed the goal of a fall 2024 opening, and now Burtonsville Crossing has released some renderings of what to expect (seen below).

Annapolis-based Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls has opened its first Montgomery County location in the space that recently the temporary home of Locally Crafted, and previously home to Joseph A. Bank, at 201A Boardwalk Place in Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront.
With Han Spot and Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls now open, Rio Lakefront is looking to fill a couple more spaces in order to be fully leased. We learned today that Koi Sushi will be taking the vacant space between Chipotle and Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls.
