Baltimore-based ice cream shop is making its move into MoCo, with a location coming soon to Chevy Chase Lake in Chevy Chase. According to OpenCorporates, The Charmery will be moving in to 8551 Connecticut Avenue, Suite 202, a 1,306 SF location. Currently, The Charmery has locations in Hampden, Union Collective, Towson, Federal Hill, and it’s first locstion outside of Baltimore, in Columbia, that opened about a year ago.
The restaurant shop is owned and operated by David and Laura Alima. The Charmery started in 2013 with their its first location in the Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore, MD. Per the Howard County Economic Development Authority:
Due to “unforeseen events,” Connecticut-based Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana has announced they will be pushing back the opening of its first DMV location at Bethesda’s Westfield Montgomery Mall (7101 Democracy Blvd) one week to Monday, March 28.
Representatives from the restaurant said the delay was due to a “minor technical issue.”

One of the reasons Jimmie Cone’s soft serve ice cream is loved by many could be because it is made with 10 percent butterfat, which is approximately twice as much as in McDonald’s and Dairy Queen soft serve. Cars usually pack the Damascus location on warmer days with long lines that move relatively quick.
Owners Dan and Bonnie Leiter bought Jimmie Cone in 1990 from Bill and Dorothy Harris, who are the son and daughter-in-law of the original owner. In 1997, Jimmie Cone opened its second location in nearby Mount Airy. The Mount Airy location is a bit larger than the original Jimmie Cone
Lapu Lapu, the sister restaurant of popular Rockville/North Bethesda/Kensington restaurant Kuya Ja’s Lechin Belly, is coming soon to the Kentlands.
The new restaurant will be taking over the 325 square foot storefront that was formerly home to Tex-Mex restaurant Peppers, located next to Vasili’s. It will specialize in breakfast sandwiches.
Suki Hana, not Sarku Hana as signage previously stated, will be opening in the Montgomery Mall food terrace.

Melina, a new full-service, fine casual Greek restaurant by the founders of Cava, Cava Mezze, and Julii, opened back in November at 905 Rose Avenue in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose neighborhood. The restaurant announced that it will be opening its outdoor bar to celebrate today’s nice weather.
The outdoor bar is accompanied by a few tables on the patio and will be open when weather permits for it to happen.

Back in November we let you know that Quickway Japanese Hibachi would be moving in to the location that was formerly home to Fashion Cleaners in the Shoppes of Olney shopping center, between CVS and Bubbles Hair Salon.
The restaurant has now installed permanent signage and construction has progressed, but an opening timeframe has not yet been provided.
Moe’s Southwest Grill at 19222 Montgomery Village Ave will be holding its official “Grand Opening” on Saturday, March 19, and will be giving away free burritos for a year to 25 people. The restaurant has actually been open since February 3, but it’s customary for restaurants to hold their “Grand Opening” ceremony several weeks after they’ve had their initial “soft opening”.

Popular Montgomery County Greek restaurant, Big Greek Cafe, is debuting a new crispy fish sandwich at all of its locations tomorrow (Tuesday, March 15).
While chicken sandwiches were all the rage the last year or two, this sandwich is made from “fresh, crispy flounder on a brioche bun with you choice of tartar or Greek sauce, and served with fries for $9.99”, per a social media post by the restaurant.
