On Saturday, June 26th Wil Armstrong, a 2016 Damascus High School graduate, commenced his cross-country bike ride “Against the Wind” from Rehoboth Beach, DE. He is expected to finish 2.5 months later in Seattle, Washington. Throughout this journey, Wil is updating his daily blog with his progress, experiences, and updates on his banana consumption count. During his cross-country journey, he is crowdfunding for the ALS Association after seeing his mentor and former basketball coach, Rodney Lapp, go through it.

Frank’s Burger Place is now open at 11265 Triangle Lane in Wheaton. Owner Chef Pedro Matamoros told us that he wants to bring a fresh and local burger place to the area that doesn’t cost a fortune.  “We don’t want to charge $15 for a burger like the other places.”

The restaurant is currently serving burgers, dogs, chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers, and shakes. They hope to have beer on tap in the near future. They are open 11am-10pm daily and are also available on DoorDash, UberEats and Grub Hub.

This post was updated to reflect the correct location of the Little Caesers restaurant, it was previously reported as Burtonsville.

HalfSmoke was the first restaurant of its kind to serve gourmet sausages via an assembly line format. Their sausages and toppings can be fully customized to create over 50,000 variations. Their menu also features craft beer, mac and cheese balls, tater tots, milkshakes, funnel cakes, wine, cocktails, and more.
