The restaurant name means “Kingdom” in Mandingo, a language spoken throughout Gambia, Mali, and Senegal.

The restaurant serves coffee and breakfast treats in the morning, midday snacks/lunch, brunch on the weekends, and a full dinner menu. The full menu can be seen here.


From the Old Takoma Business Association: “Cielo Rojo is now open now at 7056 Carroll Avenue, Takoma Park. This new family-owned, fine-casual Mexican restaurant serves traditional cuisine including tacos, enchiladas, pozole, gorditas, carnitas, salsas, moles and more. Tortillas are handmade in-house, grinding their heirloom corn that comes from Oaxaca, Mexico. There is a carefully crafted tequila and mezcal menu and cocktails.”

Yesterday I spoke with Wicked Waffle and was told they’re only closed temporarily, but today I spoke with a representative from Montgomery Mall who confirmed that the waffle spot won’t be re-opening in the mall. An employee from Wicked Waffle DC also confirmed that they will not be opening the Montgomery Mall location.


We’ve been able to confirm that the fresh juice, smoothie, and açaí bowl franchise is coming to 1403 Research Row Blvd. Suite A7, where they’ll join Chick Fil A, One Life Fitness and the upcoming Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant.

Robek’s was founded in Los Angeles in 1996 and is projected to have over 100 locations this year.
