The long-awaited Play Street Museum is officially opening its doors in Gaithersburg on Wednesday, August 13th. This new location, the first in Montgomery County, will offer a unique and engaging indoor play experience for children aged 0 to 7. The franchise is being brought to the area by a Montgomery County native.

Starting with the 2025–2026 school year, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) will implement a revised grading and reporting policy for students in grades 6 through 12. MCPS shared that these changes are designed to bring greater consistency across schools, reinforce academic accountability, and set clear expectations for student learning.

Maryland’s six casinos generated $165.7 million in gaming revenue in July 2025, a 2.5% decrease compared to July 2024. Of that total, $71.9 million was contributed to the state, including $51.7 million for the Education Trust Fund, with most individual casinos seeing modest year-over-year changes.

With the Washington Commanders preparing for their first preseason game on Friday against the Patriots, several rookies are making a name for themselves in training camp. Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Superintendent Dr. Thomas Taylor has given a direct and candid assessment of the ongoing payroll issues, promising a resolution by the end of this week. During an appearance on Sunil Dasgupta’s “I Hate Politics” podcast, Dr. Taylor took ownership of the problem and admitted that it is not a new challenge for the school district.
