Montgomery Parks is hosting a special event in celebration of Disability Pride Month, marking the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The event, titled “Disability Pride Outside,” offers a morning filled with various outdoor activities that are both accessible and adapted for individuals with disabilities. This family-friendly event is set to take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Black Hill Regional Park’s Discovery Center, located at 20926 Lake Ridge Drive, Clarksburg, MD. All activities are free of charge, although advance registration is required.

Officers from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) have successfully apprehended suspects involved in a series of residential burglaries. District 2 (Bethesda) Commander, Captain Amy Daum, recently extended her gratitude towards Officer Weber and Officer Blow for their exceptional efforts in bringing the suspects to justice.

Ms. Matlin received worldwide critical acclaim for her film debut in Paramount Pictures’ CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOD, for which she received the Academy Award for Best Actress. The Washington Commanders have officially unveiled their new alternate jerseys for the upcoming season, much to the excitement of a fanbase eager to reconnect with the franchise’s storied past. The new threads, featuring the classic white top and burgundy bottom, hark back to the team’s most dominant period, often referred to as the “Super Bowl Era.” They also include  gold face mask.

The Dough Roller’s story began in 1980, when founder Bill Gibbs envisioned a family-friendly eatery on the front porch of Ocean City’s Breakers Hotel. Recognizing the appeal of a casual yet inviting atmosphere for visitors, he established the first Dough Roller, laying the groundwork for what would become an Ocean City institution. The restaurant even briefly had a location right here in Montgomery County.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal is once again warning Marylanders of the serious and life-altering dangers posed by illegal fireworks following multiple incidents over the Independence Day holiday, most notably a tragic injury to a young teen and the shutdown of an unauthorized fireworks show in Harford County.

The Rockville Mayor and Council, along with the city’s Environment Commission, presented Environmental Excellence Awards in June to honor local contributions to sustainability. Dawn Samen was recognized for her long-term litter cleanup efforts in Twinbrook, while Ingleside at King Farm was honored for its composting program and environmentally friendly dining practices.
