The fourth annual DMV Veteran Shark Tank pitch competition will take place on June 12, at the Clarksburg Premium Outlets, in honor of Women Veterans Appreciation Day. The event, presented by Prince George’s Community College and United Way of the National Capital Area, features three female veteran entrepreneurs competing for a $5,000 prize, along with mentorship and business support services. Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced that two individuals have been sentenced for their roles in a violent criminal organization linked to multiple shootings, a murder, and armed robberies across several Maryland counties and Washington, D.C.
Governor Wes Moore has appointed Betsy Fox Tolentino as Acting Secretary of the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services, effective June 11, 2025, citing her experience in juvenile justice and leadership roles both within the department and in national nonprofit work.
According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, 18-year-old Nicholas Blanco of Bethesda, a student at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, was sentenced to four years in prison, with all but 11 months suspended, and three years of probation upon release. (more…)
Maryland is home to a single Cook Out location, located at 1115 S Salisbury Blvd in Salisbury, MD. This standout fast-food destination draws visitors from near and far. On our way from Rockville to the beach in Ocean City, we stopped by for a snack. Our drive took approximately 2.5 hours, departing Rockville at 10:00am on a Monday and arriving by 12:30pm (photos below).
Montgomery County has awarded a $9,016 MOVE grant to IT consulting firm Powersolv to support its relocation from Reston, Virginia, to Rockville, where the company plans to expand operations and add new jobs as part of the County’s ongoing efforts to attract and retain technology businesses.
