The City of Bowie, MD will lose Six Flags America and Hurricane Harbor after the 2025 season, as Six Flags Entertainment Corporation announced plans to close the parks and market the 500-acre property for redevelopment. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) is implementing changes to nontidal fishing license and trout stamp fees effective June 1, 2025. This represents the first adjustment to nontidal–or freshwater fishing–fees in almost 20 years, addressing the rising costs of maintaining conservation efforts and angler programs in the face of inflation.

Earlier this week, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson shared that TCU linebacker Johnny Hodges was invited to the Los Angeles Chargers rookie minicamp. Hodges is a Montgomery County native from Darnestown who graduated from Quince Orchard High School in 2019.
