On Saturday April 19 and Sunday April 20, free shuttle buses will replace trains between Rhode Island Ave. and Takoma on the Red Line. The Brookland station will be closed and there will be no Red Line train service at Fort Totten. Crews will be working to replace the switch machines in the interlocking where trains are able to cross between separate tracks. Additional Service Information below:

At approximately 2:30 a.m. on the 11700 block of Veirs Mill Road near Claridge Road in Wheaton-Glenmont, a multi-vehicle incident resulted in injuries and traffic disruption. The collision involved a car that sustained minor damage, with a pedestrian standing nearby who was struck by a passing motorist.
Montgomery Parks is hosting the second annual Sligo Creek Fest on Saturday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Held on a portion of Sligo Creek Parkway that is closed to vehicular traffic on weekends, the festival will feature musical performers on three stages, as well as nature activities, kid’s activities and a variety of local food and brewery options.
The Takoma Park Police Department has sent out an alert to the community informing that they have been receiving emails and phone calls from both local residents and out-of-state individuals reporting a concerning scam. Individuals are purporting to work for the City or Police Department and are contacting people with claims that they’ve won a prize, but must first pay taxes or fees to claim it. In some cases, scammers are even sending photos in an attempt to make their communication appear legitimate.
