A fire on the third level of the five story Rio parking garage caused significant damage to several vehicles, according to MCFRSPIO Pete Piringer.

An SUV was fully engulfed and the fire spread to surrounding vehicles as smoke could be seen from surrounding areas.


Updated on  January 13th to include a deli as a potential replacement for Zoe’s.

Zoës Kitchen will close its Park Potomac location, leaving the Germantown location as the lone Zoës in MoCo. A source close to the situation tells us that a new sushi restaurant or deli is deep in talks to come to the shopping center and could be eyeing the Zoe’s Kitchen space. Zoës in Park Potomac will close on January 24th.


 

Located in the iconic shopping area of Bethesda Row in Bethesda, Maryland, the 2,000 square foot store will stay true to Johnny Was’ timeless style, artistry, and authenticity. Upon entrance guests are greeted with brightly colored floor to ceiling nature-inspired murals by artist Chris Lord, Italian tile floors, marble tables, oak fixtures with bronze hardware, and a mix of custom and antique furniture.


Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams opened up its first MoCo location a couple weeks back on Bethesda Row (4918 Elm St) and this Thursday Jeni’s will have its Grand Opening event.

“We make ice cream to bring people together and we design our shops as community gathering places,” said Jeni’s Founder Jeni Britton Bauer. “We love serving people on 14th in DC, but we also love being a destination for families, too, so both Old Town and Bethesda were no brainers. We can’t wait to welcome both communities into our shops.”


Kyoto Matcha, an international chain dedicated to Matcha desserts, opened in Rockville Town Square on Black Friday.

Today we stopped in for some amazing desserts and were pleasantly surprised by a full restaurant during off-peak hours– definitely great to see at Rockville Town Square.
