Francesca’s to Close Permanently at Bethesda Row
Earlier this month, Houston-based women’s boutique chain Francesca’s voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, with plans to sell the business, including its brick-and-mortar stores.
South House Garden Still Coming to Olde Town Gaithersburg
Representatives from the South House Garden have told us they plan to open sometime late in the first quarter of 2021. The restaurant is located 317 E. Diamond Ave in Gaithersburg, the former home of Firehouse Cue and The End Zone (among others).

GameStop in Fallsgrove to Close
The GameStop located at 14929 Shady Grove Rd in Rockville will be closing in the early part of 2021. It is the only GameStop store in Montgomery County that has announced it is going out of business.

Plaza Oaxaca to Take Over the Old La Tasca Location in Rockville Town Square
Plaza Oaxaca will open early next year at Rockville Town Square in Rockville, MD. The 4,500-square-foot restaurant will feature authentic Mexican fare and hand-crafted cocktails.
Last night (December 14th), the City of Gaithersburg Mayor and City Council held a joint work session with the Gaithersburg Planning commission to discuss findings from the Lakeforest Mall Master Plan engagement efforts.
On August 10th, the Mayor and City Council put into motion an amendment process for the Lakeforest Mall Master Plan, which would consider input from extensive public engagement to then produce a new design plan for the Lakeforest site that establishes an overall vision for the future development.
