The store has been at 20 Grand Corner Ave in Rio for approximately 13 years. We were told there are no plans for this store to relocate as it had from its previous Kentlands location in the early 2000s.
There are nearby locations in Fairfax, Annapolis, and Towson.
The local artisanal ice cream scoop shop is going to be located in the space next to Starbucks on Boardwalk Place as a summer pop-up (updated on 6/8 to reflect the pop-up status of the store).

Yard House, which offers “great food, classic rock, and the worlds largest selection of draft beer”, is taking over the old Macaroni Grill location at 211 Rio Blvd.

As was rumored earlier this year, Silver Diner will be taking over the old Cafe Deluxe location in the same building as the AMC theaters and the upcoming Dave & Buster’s.
Half of the renovations to AMC have been completed, as the downstairs level is now open for business.
All theaters now have reclining seats and reserved seating (think iPic). The kitchen is not quite ready to go yet, but should open in about two weeks. For now, there is gourmet popcorn available as well a variety of milkshakes, including: Reese’s Pieces, Junior Mints, churro, Ghirardelli chocolate, and a “build-your-own” option.
More good news…prices aren’t expected to change for a few months. I was told possibly up to half a year! For now, an adult ticket after 4pm costs $12.31 ($10.66 from 12pm-4pm, and $6.15 before noon).
3:55PM UPDATE: An employee informed me that the location was closed due to a hot water tank needing repair. They may re-open as early as later today.
Taco Bar in Rio (10003 Fields Rd.) has been closed by the MoCo Department of Health and Human Services.
They’re going into 6 Grand Corner Avenue – across from South Moon Under and the coming soon Lanzhou Hand Pulled Noodles. They’ll open later this year.
