Rockville Town Square welcomes back the largest ice rink in the DC/Baltimore region this week.
Gyuzo BBQ has now opened in Rockville Town Square.
The Japanese BBQ restaurant held a soft opening this weekend, which led to the restaurant reaching capacity.
Soulfull Cafe, powered by Dawson’s Market, will have its socially distanced ribbon cutting on Wednesday, September 16th at 11:15am.

HalfSmoke is Coming to MoCo
Earlier this week the Washington Business Journal reported that HalfSmoke would be opening two new Maryland locations– Baltimore and Rockville.
Over a year ago we reported that Gyuzo Japanese BBQ would be taking over part of the old Mellow Mushroom location in Rockville Town Square.
Today we spoke with the owners and were told to expect an October opening.
Gumbo Ya Ya has closed permanently in Rockville Town Square.
The Puerto Rican/Cajun fusion restaurant moved to Rockville from its previous location in Germantown. It opened in November of 2019 and unfortunately wasn’t able to make it through the COVID pandemic after closing its doors in March.
La Tasca has closed permanently in Rockville Town Square.
A few days after the Washington Business Journal announced that La Tasca filed for bankruptcy, the Kensington-based restaurant sent out an email stating the following:
BREAKING: We’ve just been told that Gordon Biersch in Rockville Town Square has closed permanently.
At the moment, we don’t have any further information, but we were told that employees were informed just a couple hours ago.
Bar Louie Closes Both MoCo Locations (and Gallery Place)
Bar Louie, a bar and restaurant chain founded in 1990, has recently closed three DC Metro area locations (including Rockville Town Square and Wheaton Mall in MoCo).
Kyoto Matcha, an international chain dedicated to Matcha desserts, opened in Rockville Town Square on Black Friday.
Today we stopped in for some amazing desserts and were pleasantly surprised by a full restaurant during off-peak hours– definitely great to see at Rockville Town Square.
