The owner of Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda has fully paid off a $350 million loan tied to the property, more than two years after the loan was transferred to special servicing, according to a report from Bisnow.
Beginning Monday, September 28, Westfield Wheaton and Westfield Montgomery will implement a new Parental Guidance Policy requiring visitors under 18 to be accompanied by an adult age 21 or older after 3 p.m. daily. (more…)
CAVA has temporarily closed its Westfield Montgomery Mall location for renovations. According to signage posted at the restaurant, it is expected to reopen in winter 2026.
Sabrosito Snack Bar is now operating out of a new space in the Westfield Wheaton food court, taking over the location previously occupied by Firehouse Subs. The sandwich chain opened at the mall in February 2024 and closed in February 2026.
Pollo Campero has permanently closed its location in the Westfield Montgomery Mall food court at 7101 Democracy Boulevard in Bethesda after a little more than two years. (more…)

HeyTea is now expected to open its second Montgomery County location this winter after its debut at Westfield Montgomery was pushed back from the previously announced fall timeframe.
Shotted, the popular Northern Virginia-based Saudi-inspired coffee shop, is continuing its Maryland expansion with an upcoming location at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda.

Updated to reflect this will be Maryland’s second two-level location rather than first.
Zara’s new 38,000 SF location at Westfield Montgomery Mall is now expected to open in February 2027, according to employees of the current store at the mall.
