A permit has been issued to Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) for construction of a $9.4 million addition at Greencastle Elementary School in Silver Spring (Fairland).

Fitzgerald Auto Mall has officially closed its Wheaton location at 10915 Georgia Ave after serving the Wheaton community for the past 50 years.
On June 29, at approximately 4:43 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 900 block of Anne Street for the report of a residential burglary.
According to Takoma Park Police, “Between 9:10 am and 4:43 pm two unknown suspects broke into the victim’s residence by forcing open a rear basement door. Property was stolen. Home video surveillance captured the suspects:
American Real Estate Partners (AREP) announced that it has secured a 13,853-square-footlease with Two Birds at its Inventa Towers property in the heart of Silver Spring.
In December we let you know that Nash & Smash, a restaurant that serves Nashville hot chicken sandwiches, fried chicken, smash burgers, and more, is coming soon to MoCo. Construction began this spring and now permanent signage is up at the restaurant, according to a photo sent in to us by My Dad’s Chips (who was making a delivery at nearby Santucci’s Deli).

Montgomery County Police has announced that two suspects have been arrested in connection to an armed carjacking and robbery that occurred on Tuesday in Silver Spring.
Montgomery County’s annual “Pride in the Plaza” event takes place this Sunday, June 39, in Silver Spring.
According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, “Today in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, the Honorable Debbie Dwyer sentenced defendant, Michael Boyd Jr., 40, of Olney, to 90 years in prison suspend all but 55 years to serve and five years of supervised probation upon release.
