The Maryland Transportation Authority is replacing the deck on the Bay Bridge. This portion of Phase 1 deck replacement recently began with anticipated completion by spring 2025.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision involving a pedestrian between exits 8 (Shady Grove Rd.) and 9 (Sam Eig Hwy) on northbound I-270 at approximately 5:40am Friday morning.
Pike’s Peek, one of Montgomery County Road Runners Club’s premier racing events, takes place this Sunday, April 21st. Frederick County Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a vehicle fire and found a tractor-trailer fully engulfed when they arrived at the scene of I-270 South past Exit 26 MD 80.

The Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management & Homeland Security (OEMHS) issued the following alert at 6:44am on Tuesday, April 2: “Overturned tractor trailer blocks the left two lanes of the Inner Loop of I-495 just before Exit 39 (River Rd/MD 190). This will be an extended incident that may persist through the morning commute. Expect significant delays. Seek alternate route.” (more…)
The Gaithersburg Department of Public Works announced that road construction will be performed on Summit Avenue at East Diamond Avenue. The work is anticipated to begin on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, weather permitting.
