The City of Rockville is moving forward with projects citywide focused on making all forms of mobility safer for all users as part of the city’s Vision Zero initiative.

Starting today, Monday January 29th, DC’s Department of Transportation (DDOT) is ticketing any vehicles “illegally driving, parking, standing, or stopping in a bus lane.” This coming after months of a warning period that began back in July.
Both directions of Georgia Ave are blocked between New Hampshire Ave and Gregg Rd. in Brookville on Monday, January 29.
The left lane on the outer loop of I-495 between the Fernwood Rd overpass and Greentree Rd overpass in Bethesda is closed due to a pothole that has left several vehicles on the right shoulder with flat tires, per Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS).
Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police Officers are currently investigating a serious, multi-vehicle crash on the westbound span of the Bay Bridge. MDTA Police Dispatch received initial calls at 8 a.m.

Emergency utility work continues to keep all southbound lane of Colesville Rd (US 29) closed at Lorain Ave between Southwood Ave & Timberwood Ave.
Randolph Rd. has been closed at Nebel St. due to malfunction railroad arms, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) has responded to a crash on northbound I-270, past exit 9 (I-370 Sam Eig Highway) involving “several vehicles, including a tractor-trailer” at approximately 9:30am Tuesday morning.
