The Montgomery County Police Department hosted a golf clinic for kids in our community at the South Germantown Driving Range today.
Summer camps have been shut down for the most part and routines have changed, so the MCPD wanted to do something to give kids in our community something to do in as safe of an environment as possible.
You might know actress Uzo Aduba from her role as Suzanne Warren (also known as “Crazy Eyes”) in the Netflix show Orange is the New Black… but did you know that Uzo has MoCo ties?
In 2003, Aduba performed in the show Translations of Xhosa at the Olney Theatre. She was a student at Boston University at the time and was in the MoCo area for that summer during the span of the production. She earned a Helen Hayes nomination for Best Supporting Actress for the role that she played.
When Evan Walton left his job as the executive chef at the MGM to start Recess Catering & Events, he knew he’d be taking a risk. Three years later, he experienced the same catastrophic results many food and hospitality based businesses experienced due to the COVID pandemic…and the biggest risk of them all was realized.
All of his catering events through October have been cancelled and Evan decided to launch three different food concepts out of his catering kitchen to attempt to make up for the loss and keep his employees.

P.F. Chang’s has closed its Chevy Chase location permanently, according to the company’s website.
The American-based, Asian-themed restaurant moved furniture out at the beginning of April and removed the location from the company website in early April, according to PoPVille.

The Italian restaurant opened on Seneca Meadows Pkwy, near Wegmans, in Germantown in 2016. It is the sister restaurant if Pizzeria Da Marco in Bethesda, which we were told is remaining open.
