Saturday, May 19th will be the 2nd Annual BBQ to Drink Beer to Bluesfest. Local Blues Legends like the Bad Influence Band and Big Boy Little will be playing at the festival. The food and drink specials start at 11AM and the music runs from 1PM to 7PM. Smoked Brisket and Spare Ribs are just a few of the items that will be featured. Don’t forget to grab a Crowler of beer to-go for only $10.
Sunday, May 20th Dogfish will be having an adoption event entitled Paws on the Patio from noon to 4PM. Key to Lion’s Heart & Lizzie’s Lodge Rescues will both be there, as well as other K9 vendors. Dogfish will be giving away specials Paws on the Patio pint glasses!

I received a tip about Greatest American Hot Dogs, in Derwood, closing permanently.
At 4:30pm on Sunday, April 8th, we received a photo of the note on the door (shown below) regarding a gas leak that is keeping the restaurant closed temporarily. Glad to hear they’ll be back!

Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School
Named after two of the areas the school serves, the name Bethesda was taken from Jerusalem’s Pool of Bethesda. In Aramaic, Bethesda means “House of Mercy.” In Hebrew, it means “House of Kindness.”

Just a few minutes ago I received some information from Ryan Gowling (local commercial real estate agent) letting me know that Dave & Buster’s has executed a lease at 9811 Washingtonian Boulevard for 38,749 square feet.
It looks like the rumors that have been swirling for over a year will finally come true as it appears as though Dave & Buster’s will be taking over the old Sport & Health location.

Jon can be found at Growlers from open to close almost every day the restaurant is open. He gives it his all and that’s why I wanted to work with him and Growlers to let you all know about the great things happening since he’s taken over.
1. Growlers is in the process of being able to brew their own beer again. Depending on the timing of the licensing it can take anywhere from sox weeks to six months to happen, but I’ve been told it’s definitely something that’s coming back (we have a surprise for you when it does!).
