Simon Property Group, who owns and operates Clarksburg Premium Outlets, announced they will be closing until March 29th.

“After extensive discussions with federal, state and local officials and in recognition of the need to address the spread of COVID-19, Simon will close all of its retail properties, including Malls, Premium Outlets and Mills in the U.S.  This measure will take effect from 7pm local time today and will end on March 29.”

MCPS teacher Maxwell Bero (Clarksburg) has announced his run to seek the nomination for Democratic candidate in Maryland’s 6th Congressional District, challenging incumbent congressman David Trone.

Bero is currently a social studies teacher at Watkins Mill High School in Montgomery Village. “Our current Congress, and our current congressman, is not doing enough to address the problems facing this country,” Bero said. “Issues such as global climate change, the technological revolution, our overburdened education system, and health care, among others, are not being addressed by our current leaders in Washington. I’m tired of sitting on the sidelines hoping for our representatives to step up and do what is necessary. It’s time for a new generation of leadership, who is willing to fight for what’s best for ALL Americans, present, and future.”

Janice told me that she has been running the restaurant for a few months now and that the official change will take place in about three weeks.

The Clarksburg Tavern will still have a similar menu that will include items like the Monte Cristo, but will also feature bar food, a 1lb ribeye, chops, salads, a shrimp cocktail, and a variety of daily specials.

Isaac Cudjoe graduates from Seneca Valley in 2012. He has a masters in Conflict Resolution and Coexistence from Brandeis University.

Together these two young men have started Brothers With Books. Kevin and Isaac noticed that students aren’t reading as much as they should, so they wanted to make sure that students had adequate access to books.

Montgomery Parks and Little Bennett Campground (located in Clarksburg) now have you covered…literally. They have added cabins that can accommodate groups of four to six people.

Each cabin includes running water, an in-cabin bathroom with shower, coffee maker, refrigerator, charcoal grill, heat & air conditioning, and TV for playing DVDs. That’s my kind of camping!
