The Roberto Clemente Middle School community in Germantown is mourning the loss of longtime Building Service employee Charles “Charlie” Ellison Jr., a familiar and deeply respected presence at the school for decades. Ellison passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at his home in Germantown. He was 70 years old.
Brody Richardson, 19-year-old Boyds man, has been charged in connection with a rollover collision that killed a Germantown woman last summer, according to Montgomery County Police. An MCPD press release that a photo for Richardson was not available.

A fallen tree damaged a trailer home in Germantown Monday afternoon as strong winds moved through Montgomery County.
According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, crews were dispatched around 1:42 p.m. to the Middlebrook Gardens community at 19500 Frederick Road near Gunners Branch Road for a report of a tree down on top of a trailer home. All occupants were able to get out safely, and no injuries were reported. Downed wires at the scene caused a power outage in the area.
A two-vehicle collision Monday afternoon in Germantown left one vehicle overturned and caused lane closures near a busy intersection.
