Montgomery County Police are investigating g a fatal collision involving a motorcycle that occurred, Sunday, July 9.  According to MCPD, “At approximately 6:11 p.m., 5th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the area of Milestone Manor Ln. and Frederick Rd. for the report of a traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle.


Germantown resident Patty Pastera spotted a black bear in her back yard on Friday night, July 7th shortly after 10pm. “Black Bear on our property last night 7/7/23 at 10:19PM (Black Stallion Way, Germantown MD, along side Route 118. The bear stayed in our yard for 25 mins, knocked down our bird feeder and ate most of the seeds in it, tried to climb the oak tree but way too high for him. Any idea who to call? Maybe they can bring him back to the wild? It’s so unsafe for this bear to be in a dark, busy highway like 118. 😅☺️

In May and June there were multiple bear sightings in Chevy Chase, Kensington, Rockville, and Burtonsville, with one bear that was trapped and relocated by the Rockville City Police Department and the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) on May 8th.


The Jolly Shows Carnival will be at the Clarksburg Outlets (22705 Clarksburg Road Clarksburg, MD 20871) from July 12-16. There will be over 30 attractions, including carnival rides, games, and food wagons. According to their website, “We are a new generation of carnival operators who strive to be more progressive and professional. We realize that we must produce a premium product for our customer’s hard earned money. We won’t forget our proud traditions, but we are committed to overcoming the stigmas which have hindered our industry for far too long.” Tickets can be purchased here.

The carnival will be open weekdays 5-11pm, Saturday 1-11pm, and Sunday 3-11pm. Ride tickets cost $1.75 each and unlimited ride wristbands between $25-30.


Baked Potato House, featuring “delicious stuffed potatoes”, is now open in the Clarksburg Premium Outlets, taking over the space that was previously home to Day & Night Cereal Bar. The cereal bar cleared out of the space in May and is expected to open in a new location sometime this summer.

Menu items at Baked Potato House include a “build your own” stuffed potato with toppings such as cheese, sour cream, bacon bits, gyro meat, broccoli, olives, sweet corn, and a variety of sauces, a selection of specialty baked potatoes, ice cream, and lemonade. The menu also features “wet burgers,” an Istanbul-style street burger that has been marinated in a special tomato sauce.


Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Karla Daniela De Paz, a missing 16-year-old from Germantown.

De Paz was last seen on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at approximately 2 p.m., on Stone Hollow Drive. De Paz is approximately 5-feet, 3-inches tall and 120 pounds. She has brown hair with blonde highlights and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a long-sleeved gray shirt and black shorts.


Per MCPD: Montgomery County Department of Police – 5th District Patrol officers have arrested and charged 21-year-old Lawrence Xavier Harrison, of Gaithersburg, and two juvenile males with auto theft related charges, following a traffic stop that occurred on Thursday, June 29, 2023.

At approximately 1:11 a.m., officers were patrolling the area of Frederick Rd. and Rosecrest Dr. (Clarksburg) when they observed a white Hyundai traveling northbound on Frederick Rd. with its headlights off and at a high rate of speed.  Officers followed the Hyundai, and determined that the Hyundai had been reported stolen. Officers observed the Hyundai make a U-Turn and fail to stop at a red traffic light. The Hyundai then got on northbound I-270 Highway. Officers activated their lights and sirens and attempted to pull over the Hyundai on I-270, but the driver of the Hyundai failed to stop and continued traveling a high rate of speed, committing several traffic infractions.


MCFRS responded to a two-vehicle crash that resulted in Toyota Corolla on its roof on Northbound MD-355, just past Ridge Road in Germantown at approximately 11:15AM on Wednesday morning. Only minor injuries occurred, per our safety reporter Cordell Pugh. The crash caused some delays in the area.

Tylasia was last seen on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at approximately 12 p.m., leaving her residence on Aberstraw Way in Germantown.  Tylasia is approximately 5-feet, 1-inches tall. She was last seen wearing glasses.  Police and family are concerned for her welfare.

Green was last seen on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at approximately 1:46 p.m., in the 19700 block of Germantown Rd.  Green is approximately 6-feet, 2-inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black jean shorts, black leggings and black boots. He also has a nose ring.  Police and family are concerned for his welfare.


Che was last seen on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at approximately 7 p.m., in the 23000 block of Birch Mead Road.  Che is approximately 6-feet, 1-inch tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair. Police and family are concerned for his welfare.
