Update: Montgomery County Police report that one person has died as a result of the collision.

Two vehicles collided in a head-on crash at Ridge Rd and Kings Valley Rd in Damascus on Friday around 5pm, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer.

Industry Veteran Kyle Williams named VP of Commercial Business Development

RR.AI, the commercial division of Clarksburg-based Robotic Research, a global leader in autonomous driving technology, today announced the appointment of Kyle Williams as the company’s vice president of commercial business development. In this role, Kyle will execute the company’s commercial strategy by identifying new business opportunities, expanding the company’s client base, and building key strategic partnerships.

Amentum announced today the appointment of John Heller as chief executive officer, effective March 28. The company’s current CEO John Vollmer, who led the organization since its launch in January 2020, will continue with the company as chairman of Amentum’s Board of Directors. Heller previously served as CEO of PAE Incorporated for seven years until March 2021.


3/2/22 Update: Amazon has announced it will be closing all 68 of its retail stores, including Amazon Books and Amazon 4 Star locations. 

Back in July we let you know of a potential Amazon location coming to Germantown. At that point it was unclear whether it would be an Amazon 4 Star or an Amazon Bookstore.


Three fires that have left two separate families displaced occurred overnight, according to MCFRS PIO Pete Piringer. The fires occurred in Takoma Park, Germantown, and a Chevy Chase. There were no injuries reported in any of the fires.

The first was a 2-alarm fire at 7401 New Hampshire Avenue in Takoma Park at the Hampshire Tower apartments. One family consisting of two children and two adults was displaced, and there was approximately $25k in damages. No word on the cause of the fire.
