The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) has announced the arrest of Cory Thomas Burkhardt, 37, of Idlewylde, Maryland, following a lengthy vehicle pursuit that began in Frederick County and continued into Montgomery County. Additional information can be found here.

An incident shut down I-270 on Friday afternoon and into the evening after a collision forced the closure of all lanes at MD 121 (Clarksburg Road).

The Salgado Family Christmas Display, created by siblings Pahan and Supuli Salgado, will open this year at a new location at Hope International Church, 15817 Barnesville Road in Boyds, MD. Clemson Athletics is putting a spotlight on Montgomery County native Ryan Linthicum, as highlighted last week in a feature by Clemson staff writer Ashby Mixon, recognizing the Damascus alum’s emergence as a key piece of the Tigers’ offensive line. Linthicum, a 6’3, 305-pound center, entered the 2025 season with more than 1,085 career snaps over 23 games (14 starts), and Clemson’s website describes him as a “breakout contributor in 2024.”

Clarksburg-based Forterra, a rapidly growing defense-technology company specializing in autonomous ground systems, has officially reached “unicorn” status. Bloomberg reports that the company has raised $238 million in a new Series C round, pushing its valuation past $1 billion.
