History

Rockville is celebrating Black History Month in February with the theme “African Americans and Labor”, featuring a new podcast “Conversations in Black”, social media highlights of Black city leaders, and a Rockville 11 video showcasing a new mural at Lincoln Park Community Center, created with community input and funded by a $30,000 Maryland State Arts Council grant.

Bethesda

In October we let you know that Japanese retailer UNIQLO is coming to Westfield Montgomery Mall (7101 Democracy Blvd) in Bethesda. Now we know the retailer has received a permit valued at $1.425 million to build out the store.

Education

MCPS has shared that students in the Montgomery County Students Automotive Trades Foundation (ATF) and Information Technology Foundation (ITF) will sell used cars and computers they have refurbished from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, at Damascus High School, 25921 Ridge Road in Damascus. The cars and computers are reconditioned by the students as part of their classroom and lab studies.
