2020 has been a difficult year for restaurants. A few weeks ago we released a list of restaurants that have closed since March 17th.(not necessarily due to Covid, but since the day the initial restrictions were put in place).

While that list is long, there are still plenty of restaurants planning to open in MoCo in 2021.

New PPP Funding Could Cover up to 3.5 Months of Salary for Restaurant and Hotel Employees, up to 2.5 Months for Other Businesses

This past Sunday, a $900 billion Coronavirus Relief Act was signed. This national stimulus package will allow a second wave of the Paycheck Protection Program to occur, among other things.


Retail

Source of the Spring reports that Xtra Ordinaire Apparel has opened their newest retail store at 937 Ellsworth Drive in Silver Spring, the former location of New York & Company. The brand has two other locations in Arlington, VA and Atlanta, GA.

Right now on their website they are offering 15% off of all items $20 or more.

MoCo Restaurant Relief Grant Applications Open Tomorrow, 11/20

On November 17, the Montgomery County Council authorized Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) to administer and award grants of up to $10,000 to eligible County restaurants and other entities like food trucks, caterers, and wineries and breweries that directly provide food service.
