First Group of MCPS Students Return to Classrooms Today, March 1st 2021

Today marks the first time Montgomery County Public School students will return to the classroom since March of last year.  A small amount of students in specific special education and technical education programs are the first to come back. The rest of the students will be brought back in specific stages.

Chief Public Health Officer for Montgomery County Travis Gayles was featured Sunday evening on 60 Minutes. He expressed his frustration with the amount of COVID-19 vaccine the county has received and described how the County is prioritizing vaccine distribution.

Local Group of MCPS Teachers Urging State of Maryland to Open A Mass Vaccine Site in MoCo

An advocacy group known as the Vaccine Hunters, comprised of eight Montgomery County Public School teachers, are encouraging residents to reach out to state and local officials to demand a mass vaccination site in the county.

The first Feed the Fridge in Maryland is coming to 7315 New Hampshire Ave in Takoma Park this Friday. Feed the Fridge, started by Medium Rare’s, Mark Bucher,  places refrigerators in local communities and pays area restaurants to stock them daily with fresh meals. Conversation About COVID-19 Vaccine in the Black Community this Monday, February 22nd

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and County Council members Will Jawando will be hosting a virtual event titled, “The Black Community and the COVID-19 Vaccine: Why Acceptance of the Vaccine is Important” on Monday, February 22nd at 7:30PM.
