Per Howard County:
ELLICOTT CITY, MD – County Executive Calvin Ball today signed an Executive Order immediately lifting the mask mandate in Howard County. Howard County public buildings and facilities, and public transit, including the RTA, will still require masks. Businesses and organizations may still require masking at their own discretion.

ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan today enacted an executive order expanding the state’s efforts to support health care facilities in addressing staffing shortages. In addition, the state’s health metrics continue to substantially improve, with COVID-19 hospitalizations dropping at the fastest rate in the United States.
Two weeks ago, Gaithersburg-based Novavax received approval for its Covid-19 Vaccine from the South Korean food and drug administration and filed for emergency use authorization in South Africa. In late December it received emergency authorization in India, and earlier this week Novavax announced its Australian approval.

In a social media post from Governor Larry Hogan this morning, it was revealed that Maryland’s First Lady Yumi Hogan has tested positive for Covid-19.
“As part of our weekly testing regimen, the First Lady tested positive for COVID-19. Having been vaccinated and boosted, she is only experiencing mild symptoms. She will quarantine at Government House. I received negative rapid and PCR tests.
