Seneca Creek State Park’s Clopper Lake Day Use Area will be closed to public entry on Thursday January 13 and Friday January 14 for an annual managed deer hunt.

“This activity helps us keep the population of white tailed deer in the park at sustainable levels. This two-day closure includes all roads and trails, including neighborhood trailheads, in the area between Clopper Road and Riffle Ford Road. All trails south and west of Riffle Ford Road and north and east of Clopper Road remain open.”

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a townhouse fire on the 300blk of W Deer Park Rd in Gaithersburg on Wednesday morning around 3am.

Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer reports that up to 20 people from six different townhouse units are displaced.

To help ensure the health and safety of our patrons, performers and staff, effective immediately the City of Gaithersburg will require a photo ID & proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 to attend all indoor performances at the Arts Barn & Kentlands Mansion. Unvaccinated children under 12 years of age & patrons with a medical condition or closely-held religious belief preventing vaccination must provide proof of a negative PCR test conducted no more than 72 hours prior to the performance. Digital or printed copies of vaccination cards & negative PCR tests will be accepted. Please note that this policy is subject to change pending Montgomery County Board of Health vaccination requirement regulations currently under consideration.
