Through the course of the investigation, detectives reviewed home surveillance video and interviewed witnesses, and have determined that no criminal activity occurred.


Burtonsville

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating, Isabella Pehoua, a 16-year-old from Burtonsville. Pehoua was last seen on Thursday, January 12, 2023, in the 2900 block of Cabin Creek Drive.

Pehoua is approximately 5-feet, 3-inches tall and weighs 164 pounds. She has auburn hair, brown eyes and a piercing in her nose. It is unknown what clothing she was last seen wearing. Police and family are concerned for her welfare.


Silver Spring

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Meriam Kidanemaryma Bahta is asked to call the police non-emergency number at (301) 279-8000 (24-hour line) or the 3rd District Investigative Section at (240) 773-6870. Callers may remain anonymous.

 


Burtonsville

Police responded to reports of shots fired on Wednesday evening in Burtonsville.  According to Montgomery County Police, “At approximately 7:40 p.m., MCP officers responded to a residence on McKnew Rd. and determined that a round struck the residence.” There were no injuries reported and there is no information available regarding the suspect(s).

Per Public Safety Reporter Cordell Pugh on Twitter: “SHOTS FIRED IN BURTONSVILLE: McKnew Road near Pine Top Lane. (Burtonsville/Montgomery County, MD). ~7:20PM, shots fired in the area. Montgomery County Police notified ~7:40PM. Responding Officers found shell casings and at least 1 nearby residence struck by gunfire.”


Wheaton

Montgomery County Police responded to an armed carjacking on Wednesday evening in Wheaton. According to MCPD, “At approximately 8 p.m., MCP officers responded to the area of Wheaton Plaza for the report of an armed carjacking that just occurred.  

The male suspect, armed with a firearm, stole a vehicle from a victim. This is an active and ongoing investigation.” We will post an update when additional information becomes available.


Rockville

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, in the area of West Gude Drive and Watkins Pond Blvd. in Rockville.

At approximately 2:29 p.m., Montgomery County Police Officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a single vehicle collision. The investigation by detectives has revealed that the driver of a silver 2018 Infiniti Q50 was traveling eastbound on West Gude Drive when he lost control and collided with a tree in the center median.


Gaithersburg

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating a bank robbery that occurred on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the Bank of America in the 400 block of N. Frederick Ave. in Gaithersburg. Detectives have released surveillance photos of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

At approximately 3:36 p.m., officers responded to the location for the report of a bank robbery that just occurred. The investigation by detectives has revealed that the suspect entered the bank, implied he had a firearm, stole an undisclosed amount of money and left the bank.  Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage of the bank and obtained surveillance photographs of the suspect.


Gaithersburg

Police responded to a bank robbery on Tuesday afternoon in Gaithersburg. According to MCPD, “Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at approximately 3:36 p.m., MCP officers responded to the Bank of America at 474 N. Frederick Ave. in Gaithersburgfor the report of a bank robbery that just occurred.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that the adult male suspect entered the bank, implied he had a firearm, stole an undisclosed amount of money, and left the bank. Injuries have not been reported. The suspect has not been apprehended.”


Rockville

Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on West Gude Drive in Rockville on Tuesday afternoon. According to MCPD, “On Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at approximately 2:29 p.m., officers responded to the area of West Gude Drive and Watkins Pond Blvd. for the report of a single vehicle collision.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that the driver of a silver Infiniti was traveling eastbound on West Gude Drive when he lost control and collided with a tree in the center median. The adult male driver of the Infiniti was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the decedent will be released following proper notification of next of kin.


Bethesda

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – 2nd District Investigative Section are investigating a theft from a delivery vehicle that occurred on Thursday, October 13, 2022, in Bethesda. Detectives are releasing surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him. At approximately 12:08 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the 7500 block of Old Georgetown Road for the report of a theft from a delivery truck.

The initial investigation has determined that an unknown suspect entered the delivery truck, stole property and left the scene. A citizen witnessed the crime and followed the suspect into the Bethesda Metro Station. When the suspect noticed he was being followed he demanded that the citizen stop and pulled up his sweatshirt, revealing a handgun in his waistband. The suspect then entered a white Lexus and left the scene. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6-feet, 1-inch and weighs 200 pounds. He was wearing a baseball hat, white face mask, a hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants and gloves.
