Silver Spring

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 64-year-old man from Silver Spring. Peter Keith Henderson was last seen on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, in the 3000 block of Shepperton Ter.

Henderson is approximately 6-feet, 1-inch tall and weighs 280 pounds. He has brown eyes and grey and black hair. It is unknown what he was last seen wearing. He may be driving a black Cadillac SRX bearing Pennsylvania license plate LLF7227. Police and family are concerned for his welfare.


Rockville

The preliminary investigation by detectives has determined that for reason still under investigation the bicyclist entered the southbound lanes of Rockville Pike and was struck by a black 2015 Mercedes GLK350 traveling southbound. The driver of the Mercedes remained on scene.


Silver Spring

Update: According to MCPD, the adult male victim that was shot early this morning in Silver Spring has been pronounced deceased and the incident is now being investigated as a homicide.

Montgomery County Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Friday morning in Silver Spring. According to MCPD, “On Friday, December 2, 2022, at approximately 3:05 a.m., 2nd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the 8500 block of 16th St. for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries.


Bethesda

Alston is five-feet, 2-inches tall and weighs 105 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. Police and family are concerned for her welfare.  Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Kimberly Alston is asked to call the police non-emergency number at (301) 279-8000 (24-hour line). Callers may remain anonymous.


Gaithersburg

The investigation by detectives has revealed that the suspect presented fraudulent driver’s licenses at several credit unions to obtain funds from credit union members’ accounts. The credit unions were located in Silver Spring and Gaithersburg and also in the state of Pennsylvania. Detectives reviewed the surveillance cameras of the credit unions and obtained a photo of the suspect.


Beyond MoCo

On Monday, October 31, a search of the FBI’s National DNA Index System (NDIS), identified a match, connecting the DNA to 65-year-old Marion Edward Pearson, Jr., of Durham, NC.


Silver Spring

The first suspect is described as a Black male, 20-30 years old, 5-feet, 9-inches tall, with a slim build. He was wearing all black clothing and Nike sneakers. The second suspect is described as a Black male, 20-30 years old, 5-feet, 9-inches tall, with a heavy build. He was wearing a black hoodie and camouflage pants.


MoCo Police

Per MCPD: Members of the Montgomery County Police Alcohol Holiday Task Force will be devoting their full time and attention to detecting alcohol-related offenses this holiday season.  During the week of November 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27, task force officers arrested 32 people for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs (DUI).

Takoma Park

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating a commercial armed robbery that occurred on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at a Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) in Takoma Park. Detectives have released surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

At approximately 7:29 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the 7700 block of Blair Rd. for the report of a robbery. The preliminary investigation by detectives has revealed that the suspect entered the restaurant, displayed a firearm and demanded money. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands. The suspect left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.


Gaithersburg

Montgomery County Police have released the 9-1-1 call made by the pilot who crashed a small plane into a power line tower near Goshen Road and Rothbury Drive in Montgomery Village on Sunday evening.  Maryland State Police identified the pilot as Patrick Merkle, 65, of Washington, D.C, and the passenger as Jan Williams, 66, of Louisiana. The two were rescued around 12:30am on Monday after spending seven hours in the tower, suspended more than 100ft.  In a press briefing on Monday, Fire Chief Scott Goldstein reported that both individuals had been transported to the hospital and their conditions had improved. One patient was still in the hospital as of Monday afternoon.  The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the cause of the crash.

In the 9-1-1 call, Merkle tells the dispatcher, “I’ve flown into a tower to the northwest of Gaithersburg Airport. It’s one of the electrical towers and, believe it or not, the aircraft is pinned in the tower and I don’t know how long we’re going to be able to stay here.” He also said that he believed the two had suffered head injuries from being banged around in the cockpit. Silver Spring

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are investigating a commercial burglary and auto thefts that occurred on Monday, November 28, 2022, at the Universal Auto Group, in Silver Spring. Detectives have released surveillance video of the four suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them. At approximately 1:47 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to 2200 block of Distribution Cir. for the report of a burglary.

The investigation by detectives has determined that four unknown suspects forced entry into the car dealership, stole an undisclosed number of car keys and four cars: a white 2017 Mercedes Benz GLS, gold 2019 Mercedes Benz GLC, white 2019 Mercedes Benz S450 and a white 2019 BMW X3. Anyone with information regarding these suspects or this crime is asked to call the 3rd District Investigative Section at (240) 773- 6870.
