Montgomery Village

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a collision involving a pedestrian in Montgomery Village on Thursday, November 10, around 7:30pm. According to MCPD, the victim was stuck by a vehicle on Clubhouse Road & Brassie Place and has been transported by EMS with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene. We will post an update when more information becomes available.

Silver Spring

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Major Crimes Division are currently investigating a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, November 10, 2022, in the 9000 block of Piney Branch Road.  At approximately 5:56 p.m., officers from the 3rd district responded to the location for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital in serious but stable condition.

During the investigation into the shooting, Montgomery County Police K9 officers located a deceased person in the wooded area with trauma to the body. The body has been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore where an autopsy will be conducted to officially determine the cause and manner of death.  This is an active and ongoing investigation.


Silver Spring

The third male, later identified as Willians Anderson Alberto Cruz, was found in a wooded area towards the back of 100 block of Colony Road suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Montgomery County Police Officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel immediately performed life-saving measures, however Alberto Cruz was pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth male victim was located uninjured at the scene.


Gaithersburg

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Nijade Grant, a missing 16-year-old from Gaithersburg. Grant was last seen by family in the 900 block of Clopper Road at approximately 3 p.m., on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.  At approximately 10 p.m., that same day, Grant was seen at Union Station, in Washington D.C.

Grant is 5-feet, 6-inches tall and weighs approximately 190 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and black leggings.  Police and family are concerned for her welfare.

Williams is 5-feet, 4-inches tall and weighs approximately 170 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair. It is unknown what clothing she was last seen wearing.  Police and family are concerned for her welfare.

Silver Spring

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are investigating a burglary that occurred on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Silver Spring International Middle School in the 300 block of Wayne Ave. in Silver Spring. Detectives have released surveillance video of the suspect and are asking the public’s assistance in identifying him.

At approximately 9:49 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the location for the report of a burglary that just occurred.  The investigation by detectives has determined that the suspect forced entry into the school, stole items from classrooms and left the scene.

Hammad is 5-feet, 1-inch tall and weighs approximately 100 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt and black and white patterned pants. She is believed to be in the company of 13-year-old, Jayleen Chavez. Police and family are concerned for her welfare.

10PM Update: According to MCPD, “Officers responded to the back of the 9000 block of Piney Branch Road at approximately 6pm for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located a male that was transported to an area hospital in serious but stable condition. During the investigation, K9 officers located a deceased person in a wooded area. MCPD is on scene and investigating the circumstances surrounding this person’s death.”

8PM Update: Montgomery County Police responded to a shooting in the 9000 blk of Piney Branch Rd in Silver Spring on Monday, November 9, around 6:30pm. According to public safety reporter Cordell Pugh, Montgomery County Police 3rd District Officers aided the victim of the shooting prior to MCFRS arrival. The victim was transported by EMS to an area Trauma Center. We will post an update when more information becomes available. This was the second shooting today in Silver Spring. This morning at approximately 4 a.m., MCPD officers responded to the area of Colony Road and Northampton Drive for the report of shots fired.  Officers arrived on scene and located a deceased person, with trauma to the body, to the rear area of the 100 block of Colony Road. 


Rockville

Mukuka is approximately 5-feet, 4-inches tall and weighs 110 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair. It is unknown what clothing she was last seen wearing.  Police and family are concerned for her welfare.  Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Natasha Mukuka is asked to call the police non-emergency number at (301) 279-8000 (24-hour line). Germantown

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged 24-year-old Kevin Figueroa-Funez, of Germantown, with the Capital One Bank robbery that occurred on November 8, 2022, in the 10200 block of River Rd. in Potomac.  At approximately, 1:51 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the location for the report of a bank robbery that just occurred.

The investigation by detectives has determined that Figueroa-Funez entered the bank armed with a nail gun, approached an employee behind the counter and passed a note announcing the robbery and demanding money. The employee complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of money to Figueroa-Funez, who then left the scene.


Gaithersburg

The investigation by detectives has revealed that a 70-year-old woman and a 65-year-old man were crossing School Drive northbound towards Fields Road Elementary School when they were struck by a 2007 Toyota Prius, traveling westbound. Both pedestrians were transported to an area hospital where they were pronounced dead.  The decedents have been identified as 70-year-old, Ana Margarita Ortiz and 65-year-old, Miguel Antonio Ortiz, of Gaithersburg. The driver of the Prius remained on scene.  This is an active and ongoing investigation.   Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact CRU detectives at (240)773-6620.
