Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded to a fire at Crisp & Juicy at 1331-G Rockville Pike on Wednesday morning.
The fire is reported to have been in the duct work of the building and the bulk of the fire has been knocked down, according to MCFRS Spokesperson Pete Piringer.

MCPS has released new guidelines for school athletic programs, including an updated policy stating that student athletes must wear masks while sitting on the sidelines/benches.
According to WTOP, under the new guidance, all games and practices will be put on hold for a team for 14 days from the last know exposure if there are five or more active cases amongst the team.

Chase Bank has proposed two new Montgomery Counry locations. One near River Road and Falls Road, and one in the old Meixin location on Rockville Pike.

Philip McManus (“Mr. Phil”) the former Branch Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington – Germantown Branch (as well as, the former Branch Director of the former Rockville Branch and the former Silver Spring Branch) passed away on Dec 4, 2021.
Located at 11207 New Hampshire Ave, the owners of the bowling alley are currently involved in a dispute with their landlord and insurance company after damage caused by Tropical Storm Ida uncovered a few more serious issues, causing the bowling alley to close temporarily.
The owners of the bowling alley have shared their points of view in the description of a GoFundMe that has raised nearly $5,000 in just 14 hours (with a goal of $500,000).

This week, in an article titled “The Most-Vaccinated Big Counties in America Are Beating the Worst of the Coronavirus,” The Washington Post reported: “Perhaps the most highly vaccinated large County in America, according to New York Times data, is Montgomery County, Md., just outside the District of Columbia. Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show 93 percent of those 12 and older there are fully vaccinated, compared to around 70 percent nationally. The number of those dying daily over the past week is eight times as high nationally—3.4 per 1 million—as it is in Montgomery County—0.4 per 1 million—even as Montgomery County is near some virus hotspots.”

In addition, Metro teams are using the shutdown to perform track repairs that will improve service reliability and install more than 7.3 miles of fiber optic cable to enhance radio communications. Without the station closures, these upgrades alone would have required nine months of weekend shutdowns and overnight work.
