Smoketown BBQ has closed permanently and will be rebranding under new management. Smoketown took over the Urban BBQ in Sandy Spring (805 Olney Sandy Spring Rd) back in early 2019.

Ohh ohh Jeffrey’s? You read it correctly. The Burtonsville Jerry’s on Old Columbia Pike has undergone a re-branding that has lead to a name change.
Owner Jeffrey Marcus has owned the restaurant for over 30 years and has decided to part ways with Jerry’s branding, due to franchising fees associated with keeping the brand. Going forward the restaurant will be called Jeffrey’s, and we are told some other Jerry’s locations in the DMV could also be rebranding for the same reason.
Montgomery Village Gas Station Sold, Under New Ownership
The Montgomery Village Liberty, located at 19205 Watkins Mill Rd. has been sold and will now be known as Watkins Mill Liberty.

Ssong’s Hotdogs, a popular South Korean chain, is opening what was the second announced U.S. location in the Montgomery Mall food court. We’ve been told it will open next week (but no specific date has been provided).
Spice Street plans to open next week in Silver Spring for takeout and delivery, according to a post on its social media.
A new Indian restaurant in downtown Silver Spring announced plans to open by next week. After developing their new building at 8242 Georgia Avenue, Spice Street is preparing to start their delivery and curbside takeout operation for hungry customers. The owners of the new establishment also own and operate the DC restaurant, Cafe of India.

New Dunkin’ Almost Ready to Go on East Gude Drive
Dunkin’ has made a lot of progress since we last stopped by two weeks ago (featured photo is from our last visit), and we’re told it should be ready to open in early 2021.
“Just a kid from Jersey with a dream.” The new food truck that serves New Jersey style hot dogs has opened for business today. The hot dogs will cost between $3-$5 and will include a variety of topping options. Per the Catalyst Hot Dogs website (menu available in link):

Source of the Spring reports that Xtra Ordinaire Apparel has opened their newest retail store at 937 Ellsworth Drive in Silver Spring, the former location of New York & Company. The brand has two other locations in Arlington, VA and Atlanta, GA.
Right now on their website they are offering 15% off of all items $20 or more.
