Good Harvest, a hot pot restaurant that has over 50 locations in China, is coming to Rockville.
The Washington Business Journal reports that MOM’s Organic Market has signed a lease with Bozzuto Development Co. and Stonebridge to take over the previous Montgomery Planning headquarters in Silver Spring. It will be located on the ground floor of 8787 Georgia Ave. as part of the planned redevelopment of the Montgomery County government facility.
Per WBJ, “MOM’s will anchor the redevelopment of a government facility in Silver Spring into a mix of retail and residential space that’s been in the works for nearly six years.”
Chef Tony’s at The Promenade is Opening This Fall
Chef Tony’s is a highly-rated fresh seafood restaurant located in downtown Bethesda on St Elmo Avenue. This fall, you will also be able to get your Chef Tony’s fix in The Promenade building on Pooks Hill Road when Chef Tony’s @ The Promenade opens up.
Little Island Kitchen is Coming to Montgomery Village
Little Island Kitchen, a restaurant that will serve Caribbean cuisine, is coming to the Montgomery Village shopping center (10003 Stedwick Rd).
Today’s announcement that the state is moving to Phase 3 on Friday has again taken us by surprise. Although I want to see our community open as quickly as possible, we must also proceed with care. We will continue to follow the data and science in Montgomery County, as we have done every day throughout the pandemic. We are averaging about 70 cases per day, and yesterday we had 97 cases– those numbers are concerning because they’re higher than they were a few weeks ago. Because we did not receive advance notice of the Governor’s decision, we need to review the Governor’s order to determine the best way forward. We will do this over the next few days to determine the best way to move forward for our residents and businesses while protecting the public health.
Governor Hogan Announces Stage 3, Individual Counties Still to Make Own Decisions

Brazilian Bakery has expanded beyond its first store in Aspen Hill by opening a Takoma Park location (7639 New Hampshire Ave).
The new location, which opened yesterday, is offering mainly bread and baked goods for now, but also has various ham and stuffed chicken specialities.
HalfSmoke is Coming to MoCo
Earlier this week the Washington Business Journal reported that HalfSmoke would be opening two new Maryland locations– Baltimore and Rockville.
Manhattan Pizza to Open on Monday, August 31st in Clarksburg
The Regional chain has over 15 restaurants in Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina, but the Clarksburg location (23221 Stringtown Rd.) will be MoCo’s first.
Work is about to get underway on the rio’s Phase II of renovations, as the fire pit lounge is now under construction.
The second phase features more enhancements along Rio’s lakefront, which will include a cozy fire pit lounge and an expansive and inclusive playground (which will require more permits before construction can begin).
Moorenko’s is Coming to Montgomery Mall.
The ice cream shop will take over the large kiosk location that was previously home to Cookie Dough & Co. near the former Sears location on the lower level.
