Labor Day falls on Monday, September 5th, in fall 2022.
MCPS Interim Superintendent Monifa McKnight has shared recommendations of new proposed boundaries for the new Gaithersburg elementary school that will be located at Kelley Park.
The proposed boundaries are based on a study that involves all seven elementary schools in the Gaithersburg High School cluster, as well as Forest Oak and Gaithersburg middle schools.

Per Montgomery County:
Walter Johnson Principal Jennifer Baker sent a message to students after white supremacist graffiti was found on school property over the weekend. In the message, Baker says she was “deeply troubled and disheartened to learn this morning that our school had been vandalized with graffiti that included references to white supremacy and other hate speech”
FOX5 is reporting that in addition to Walter Johnson High School, similar graffiti was left at several local businesses as well as the beltway overpass of the Trolley Train.

MCPS Asks Parents to “Say Yes” to Screening, Rapid COVID Tests
Montgomery County Public Schools posted the following message on their website on Wednesday. MCPS believes that providing COVID-19 rapid testing in all schools will help minimize student quarantines keep more students in school.
The construction of the addition is expected to be completed and ready to go by the start of the 2022-2023 school year.
Construction has progressed at the site of the new Gaithersburg elementary school that will be located at Kelley Park.
