Per the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office:
Today in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, the honorable Judge Jeannie Cho sentenced defendant, Ruel Francis Dempster II, 34, of Silver Spring, to life in prison suspend all but 40 years and five years of supervised probation upon release.

Beginning this Friday, April 1, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation will be extending the hours in which residents will be required to pay for street parking in Silver Spring and Wheaton.
The new hours requiring payment at on-street meters will be Monday through Friday, 9am-10pm in Silver Spring, and Monday through Saturday, 9am-10pm in Wheaton.

Tacos Don Perez at 12321 Georgia Avenue in the Glenmont Shopping Center is currently in the final four of DC101’s Taco Tournament to determine the best tacos in the DMV.
Tacos Don Perez started off as a small, family-run catering business back in 2017. It continued that way until may 2020, when it became a once-a-week home-based pop-up when the family was left without work due to Covid-19.
One person was taken into custody on gun charges after a shooting in a Silver Spring parking garage, according to NBC Washington.
The shooting occurred around 1:40am Sunday at a garage located on the 8100 block of Fenton St. in Silver Spring.
