AAHP Expands Free COVID-19 Testing, Vaccine Pre-Registration Support, and Incentives for Montgomery County’s Black Community
In an effort to help encourage COVID-19 testing, The African American Health Program is offering free on-site testing and vaccine pre-registration, groceries, ,masks, sanitizer, and more.
The Eleanor is Set to Reopen April 1st
The Eleanor, located at 931 Ellsworth Ave in Downtown Silver Spring will be reopening on Thursday, April 1st. The Eleanor is bar/bowling lounge that features casual dining, happy hour, mini bowling and skee ball. It first opened in late February of 2020, less than a month before Covid restrictions were put in place in the county.
Local Comedy Club Presents Live Stand-Up Show Tonight On Zoom
Silver Spring based Improbable Comedy will be hosting a live virtual stand-up show tonight at 8:30PM on zoom. According to their website, Improbable Comedy aims to book more women, LBGTQ+, BIPOC, and immigrant comedians as well as comedians with disabilities.
Shepherd’s Table Offering Free Prepared Meals To Go in Aspen Hill
Shepherd’s Table is offering free prepared meals every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5-6PM at Parkland Middle School (4610 West Frankfort Dr.) in Aspen Hill.
Food Distribution Featuring Ethnic & Cultural Food This Sunday in Silver Spring
They will be handing out groceries (including protein), beginning at 12:30PM. They are asking that you please wear a mask and socially distance.
Signage is up at Tropical Smoothie Cafe in the Aspen Hill shopping center.
It will be taking the place of the old My Eye Dr. location, which has recently moved within the shopping center and is expected to open in the coming weeks.
According to signage on the windows, BB.Q Chicken will be coming to 2235 Bel Pre Rd in Silver Spring. They will be replacing Fu Lin Restaurant, which closed only three days ago on February 21st. BB.Q Chicken, a global chain of restaurants offering Korean fried chicken and more, has another Montgomery County location at 9712 Traville Gateway Dr in Rockville.
The “BB.Q” stands for “Best of the Best Quality”. The restaurant’s menu offers a wide variety of starters, including waffle fries with nacho cheese, kimchi chicken sliders, and many different flavors of their olive chicken strips. Entrees include half/whole chicken, boneless chicken, garlic chicken, and many different flavors of wings. They also have sandwiches, soups, salads, and plenty of homemade sides.
Tastee Diner in Bethesda and Silver Spring Have Reopened
Tastee Diner has reopened both of its Montgomery County locations. The restaurants, located at 7731 Woodmont Ave in Bethesda and 8601 Cameron St in Silver Spring, were temporarily closed back on December 15th when the latest indoor dining ban went into effect. Their first day back open was on February 14th. Both locations are currently open 6AM-10PM.

Back in December it was announced that Main Street Pearl would be taking over the former location of Great Shoals at 7050 Carroll Ave in Takoma Park.
Both MoCo Dave & Busters Locations Have Reopened Dining Room
Dave & Busters at 9811 Washingtonian Blvd. in Gaithersburg and 8661 Colesville Rd. in Silver Spring have both reopened for dine in and carryout service only.
