8th Annual “Fit Fathers Day” Celebration in Silver Spring and Virtual
Join Fit Fathers for a Live Interactive Workout Hybrid Edition (Virtual & Onsite) of Fit Fathers Day Presented by GMC on site at Downtown Silver Spring’s Veterans Plaza or virtually on Facebook. The free Father’s Day celebration will focus on exercising with six elite trainers providing six unique workouts. Tap Into Your Child’s Creativity with “Kids Art at the Mansion”
Tap into your child’s creativity this summer with Kids Art at the Mansion. Let them spend the afternoon at the historic Kentlands Mansion working on an art project each Tuesday, June 22 through July 13 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Take one class, or take all four, whatever fits your schedule. Cost is $20 per person per class. This program is appropriate for ages 8 through 13.
African Music & Culture Covid-19 Testing Day
As masks come down, please, don’t let your guard down as well this summer. With Montgomery County residents returning outside in more significant numbers, it is crucial to stay in the fight against COVID-19, especially if you are not fully vaccinated. So, AAHP is hosting a special outdoor testing day in Downtown Silver Spring with an Afro Beats/Ethiopian DJ and free Caribbean food as we vibe out in unity to defeating the virus. Also, receive free school supplies, groceries, a backpack, and pandemic swag such as gloves, masks, and a digital thermometer with your test.

Montgomery County Minority Veterans COVID-19 Testing Day this Saturday
Although many pandemic restrictions in the area are being lifted, Don’t Stress, Take the Test! According to the Department of Veteran Affairs, it is imperative that Vets and their families — especially those not vaccinated –continue to know their status to help prevent the spread of the virus. So, the African American Health Program, the American Minority Veterans Research Project, and @FitFathers are hosting a special COVID-19 testing day in celebration of Vets and their families in Montgomery County, MD. Also, receive free school supplies, groceries, a backpack, and pandemic swag such as gloves, masks, and a digital thermometer. You will also learn about the many support resources available in the county.
Family Covid-19 Testing Day: Free Cupcakes & Ice Cream
The African American Health Program (AAHP), Fit Fathers, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity are hosting free Covid-19 testing for friends and family to encourage household safety by knowing your status. Participants at the Montgomery County location will receive a free cupcake and/or ice cream while supplies last.
