Back in March we we spoke with Mandalay Restaurant & Cafe, a popular Burmese restaurant in Silver Spring, and were told they’d be closing the current location “soon” while looking for a spot to operate.
We were recently told that the restaurant will remain in its current location until the end of 2020.
Mandalay has been at 930 Bonifant St. for 14 years. They offer dishes from all over the land of Myanmar (Burma). Burma occupies the territory in between India and China in Southeast Asia, and you may notice similarities between Burmese food and that of neighboring countries.
Burmese dishes encompass a full range of flavors and ingredients, including vegetarian and vegan options. Burmese cooking also offers a full range of spiciness from no heat up to as hot as you like, per their website.
