Update: Man Dies in House Fire on Monday Night

Update 1:05am, December 7: A man has died after being found unconscious in a house fire on Monday night.

Approximately 65 firefighters were on the scene of a house fire on the 6900 block of Anchorage Drive off of MacArthur Blvd in Bethesda/Cabin John at approximately 7:30pm earlier this evening.

When firefighters arrived at the single family home, they were made aware of one person trapped inside the home. The patient, an adult male, was quickly located and removed from the home. He was transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Another occupant of the home was evaluated by emergency medical services on the scene.

As of 8:27pm, the fire was completely extinguished. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
