8:51am Update: A Winter Storm Watch has now been issued for Montgomery County with 1-3 inches of snow expected.
Previous update below:Per the National Weather Service, a low pressure system has trended north and west over the last 24 hours, which will now bring the potential for heavy snowfall just south of Montgomery County late tonight into Monday morning.
For areas in the Winter Storm Watch, which do not currently include any parts of MoCo, 3-6 inches of snow is expected overnight into Monday afternoon. This does not mean that MoCo isn’t expecting any snow.
Both the GFS (American model) and Euro (European model) have impactful snow falling on Monday morning, and this does include MoCo.
Things continue to trend upwards as the most recent update from the National Weather Service, seen below, shows 2-3 inches for most of MoCo.
We will continue to monitor this storm and look at projected snowfall totals from the short range models as the day continues.
