Detectives Investigate Silver Spring Armed Robbery of a 7-Eleven

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating a January 13, 2022 robbery that occurred in the 7900 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. Detectives have released surveillance photos of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

 

On Thursday, January 13, at approximately 4:19 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the 7-Eleven for the report of a robbery that just occurred. The investigation by detectives determined that an unknown male suspect, wearing a black ski mask, brown jacket, and blue jeans, entered the store and approached the counter. The suspect pointed a handgun at the store clerks, demanded that they open the register, and fired a single round at the wall. The clerks then opened two registers. The suspect climbed over the counter, took an undisclosed amount of money, then ordered the clerks to the back of the store. The suspect left through the front door.

 

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall, and average build.

 

Anyone with information regarding this suspect or this crime is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at (240) 773–5070, or contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects. Callers can remain anonymous.
