Detectives Investigate Commercial Armed Robbery

On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at approximately 12 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to RZM Title Service in the 900 block of University Boulevard East for the report of an armed robbery that just occurred.

The investigation by detectives determined that two unknown suspects entered the business. One of the suspects proceeded to the front desk, removed property from the top of the desk and then began opening and rummaging through the desk drawers. When an employee attempted to intervene, the second suspect pulled a firearm from his waistband and pointed it at him. The suspect then signaled to the employee to remove all property from his pockets and hand it over. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands.  Both suspects then fled the scene in a dark blue, older model, Toyota Corolla.

The suspects are described as two males dressed in dark clothing and wearing gloves. The first suspect is described as a Black male approximately 5-feet, 11-inches tall and 160 pounds. The second suspect is described as an unknown race male, approximately 5-feet tall and 150 pounds.

Anyone with information regarding these suspects or this crime is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070 or 240-773-TIPS, or contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects. Callers can remain anonymous.
