David Blair Maintains Narrow Lead in Montgomery County Executive Democratic Primary on Wednesday Evening

Wednesday, July 20 (6:35pm) Update:

With 246 of 258 election day precincts reporting, David Blair (28,961, 39.63%)  holds a slight lead over incumbent Marc Elrich (27,770, 38.00%) in the Montgomery County Executive Democratic primary. Hans Riemer is currently in third (14,911, 20.40%) and Peter James in fourth (1,445, 1.98%). Reardon Sullivan (6,840, 63.58%) leads the Republican primary over Shelly Skolnick (4,949, 36.42%). Mail-In/Provisional Ballots still also have to be counted.

Wednesday, July 20 (7:30am) Update: 

With 246 of 258 election day precincts reporting, David Blair (28,059, 39.51%)  holds a slight lead over incumbent Marc Elrich (26,997, 38.01%) in the Montgomery County Executive Democratic primary. Hans Riemer is currently in third (14,574, 20.52%) and Peter James in fourth (1,070, 1.96%). Reardon Sullivan (6,840, 63.58%) leads the Republican primary over Shelly Skolnick (4,949, 36.42%).

Tuesday, July 19 Update (9:30pm):

While it may take days or even weeks for Election Day and Mail-In/Provisional Ballots to be counted, the Early Voting results are in and David Blair is currently in the lead with 8,328 votes (41.01%). Incumbent Marc Elrich has 7,453 votes (36.7%)  and Hans Riemer has 4,203 votes (20.7%). Peter James has 335 votes (1.6%).

Elrich won the democratic primary in 2018 with 37,532 votes, edging out David Blair (37,455) by 77 votes. Rose Krasnow came in third with 19,644 votes, Roger Berliner came in fourth with 16,710 votes, George Leventhal came in fifth with 13,318 votes, and Bill Frick came in sixth with 4,687 votes.

Reardon Sullivan leads the Republican primary with 1,799 votes (65.28%) over Shelly Skolnick, who has 957 votes (34.72%). Robin Ficker won the Republican nomination in 2018 with 11,178 votes.
