Montgomery Parks Opens Piedmont Local Park in Clarksburg (Photos Included)

The new park features a dog park, picnic shelter, and shared pickleball and tennis courts.

Montgomery Parks, part of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, announces the opening of Piedmont Woods Local Park, located at 12835 Snowden Farm Parkway in Clarksburg. The 65-acre park provides opportunities for recreation, social gatherings, and contemplative reflection. It features a variety of amenities, including:

  • A playground
  • Two picnic shelters
  • A dog park with shaded seating
  • Two tennis courts that are also striped for pickleball
  • A basketball court
  • Paved and natural surface trails
  • A 46-space parking lot and additional furnishings

The park represents a partnership between Montgomery Parks and the site developer, Elm Street Development, which managed the construction of the park. Montgomery Parks will oversee the park operations and maintenance.

“This new park is a win-win for everyone involved. The developer is providing active public space for residents to enjoy, and the parks department has added a new park with needed amenities, including athletic facilities and a dog park, to its inventory,” Michael Riley, director of Montgomery Parks, said. Piedmont Woods Local Park is part of the site plan for the Clarksburg Town Center.
