Edited to clarify the Clarksburg score was the highest in school history
The marching bands from Clarksburg High School and Quince Orchard High School have plenty to celebrate as both schools brought back State Championships from the Maryland Marching Band Association’s competition in Towson on November 6th. The Clarksburg High School marching band, “The Spirit of Clarksburg”, received the highest score in the history of the school (91.0) on its way to winning the 3A State Championship. The school also won awards for Best Percussion, Best Color Guard, Best Visual, and Best Overall Effect. The band was undefeated in all competitions this year.
Quince Orchard High School won the 1A State Championship with a score of 87.4. Quince Orchard also received awards for Best Overall Effect and best Music Performance. Montgomery Blair High School finished in 3rd place in 2A and Rockville High School came in 6th place in 3A.
